William J. 'Bill' Henderson

William J. Henderson, 69, of Toledo passed away on July 25, 2017. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 11, 1948 to William L. and Mary (Fortunato) Henderson. He attended E. L. Bowsher High School where he left to serve his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. After returning from the army he worked for Capital Tire in Toledo. William lived in Florida for several years. When he moved back to Toledo again he worked as a service tech for Sears. As a service tech, he repaired appliances and electronics, often fixing up the broken items and bringing them home as gifts for his family to bring them joy. Bill was an avid hockey fan rooting for both the Black Hawks and the Red Wings. He also loved to have Thomas stay over for the weekend and meet up with Joe and go to the gun shows. In his younger days you could find him riding and working on his motorcycle or working on cars in the garage. His son Billy and he would go fishing when Billy was young and he loved hunting as well. When he was home, you would find that he would be watching old time westerns like Gunsmoke, Spaghetti Westerns, Kung Fu movies, and of course the 3 Stooges. William was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Brenda Henderson; and great-grandson, Brandon Gage Henderson. Left behind to cherish Bill's memory are his daughter, Gina Henderson; son William L. (Heather) Henderson; grandchildren, Thomas Bernhoft, Amber Henderson, Logan Henderson, and Hadlee Henderson; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Henderson, and Chyna Baker; siblings, Robert (Elizabeth) Henderson, Anna Marie Wolf, and Joseph (Tammy) Henderson; as well as 5 nieces and 2 nephews. Family will welcome guests on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd where a memorial service will be held with military honors at 4 p.m. Please view and sign William's condolence page at www.berstickerscottfuneralhome.com.
