Terry E. Hartkopf, age 67, of Sylvania passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Terry was born to parents Robert and Josephine Collins in Toledo. OH. She graduated from Bowser High School. She married Lois Tehan in the late 1960's and at age 20 while he was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana she survived ovarian cancer. Terry was an X-Ray technician at Toledo Hospital for many years. Terry had an entrepreneurial spirit that led her to become a successful Interior Decorator who showcased her talents in several Parade of Homes shows. Terry's next achievement was to become a building developer and as the owner of Avalon Homes she built several homes in Oregon. Despite her busy lifestyle she became a proficient 4.0 rated tennis player at Shadow Valley and Toledo Tennis Club. Terry was a runner, a bike enthusiast and loved to go to the movies. Terry was also an animal lover who would pick up injured or lost animals and have them medically treated and a home found for them. She became fascinated with gourmet cooking and enjoyed finding new recipes. She was a gardener with a good eye who could design the perfect combinations. She loved music and enjoyed concerts. She was preceded in death by her beloved Grandmother JoAnn Obarski, Father Robert Collins, Mother Josephine (Collins) Galliers, Stepfather Fred Galliers, Brothers Robert Errol, Warren and sister Lorri, Left to cherish her memory is her long time partner and friend Roger Gussett, brother Rorry Collins, stepsister Nancy Lindsey, and sister-in-law Kathy Collins. Nephews David, Justin, Rorry and Niece Errika. Louie Tehan and Rudy Hartkopf and close friend Deborah Lillich. She leaves behind her four beloved cats, Harley, Gracie, Stringbean and Peapod. There will be no visitation. Any donations in her memory should be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
