Roland "Rollie" David (Kwiatkowski) Kwiat Roland "Rollie" David (Kwiatkowski) Kwiat, age 77, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 31, 2010 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Kathryn (Bowen), Daughter, Kim (Dave) Sass, Son, Scott L. Kwiat, Brothers, Jerry (Norma), Danny (Heidi), and Sister, Joanne Vanetta. He was preceded in death by his Father Stanley, Mother Rose and Brothers, Ralph and John. Grampy had many loving memories of his grandchildren, Kyle, Dillon, Daniel, Kerrigan, Connor and Emily Kwiat. Rollie was known to all as "Rollie the carpet Man" and excelled for 30 years in a business he built and thrived known as Kwiat Carpet Service. His work ethic and diligence were second to none. As a graduate of DeVilbiss High School, 1952, he was known as a gentle giant of a man but ferocious to those who opposed him on the grid iron. Coached by Hilton Murphy who tagged him as half of a book end with his brother Danny Kwiatkowski for the years he started and ended his coaching career. Rollie was named to DeVilbiss Hall of Fame for his numerous accomplishments on the football field. He attended West Virginia University on a scholarship. When he wasn't working he was spending time with his family and gardening. He loved flowers and always had an exceptionally beautiful landscape he built around the patio and swimming pool. Rollie always had a smile a kind word and a joke for everyone. He was an avid Tigers and Pistons fan. In his later years his passion was playing the nickel videos at the casinos. Arrangements by the Bersticker-Scott Funeral 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne according to Rollie wishes there be no visitation or services. We wish to thank all the family and friends who were such a comfort to us; also all the wonderful personnel at Hospice. In conclusion, "My dear husband you can never be replaced, but you will be always cherished. You were the love of my life."
