Richard Robert Beck Richard Robert Beck, age 96 passed away peacefully on November 4, 2012 at Lutheran Village, Wolf Creek, and Holland Ohio. He was born June 24, 1916 in Toledo to Arthur and Catherine (Koerner) Beck. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Paul and Arthur and his wife of 64 years, Martha Louise (Hofner) Beck. Mr. Beck belonged to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church since 1951, where he was a past Church Council and Finance Committee member. He was also a member of the Golden Emblem, Club of Owens Illinois. He retired from Owens Illinois in 1979 as Vice-President, Corporate Planning after working there for 38 years. Mr. Beck graduated from Waite High School in 1935 and the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's Degree, Business Administration. He was the academic top-ranking senior in his graduating class, College of Business Administration. Mr. Beck was also a member of the Greater Beneficial Union, the German American Club and the Happy Wanderers Travel Club. Surviving are son's Dale (Donna) Beck, Dr. Bruce Beck, M.D., and Gary Beck; Jeffrey (Denise) Beck, Julie (Todd) Coyle, Marth Beck Monroe, great grandchildren, Andrew, Morgan, Jacob, Caden, and Clara and several nieces and nephews, close friend Mary Robinson and Kind caregiver, Deb Lester. In April 1965, Mr. Beck was invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma, which is the University of Toledo Business Administration honorary society. Mr. and Mrs. Beck loved to travel to Europe, Hawaii, and Canada and throughout the U.S... Mr. Beck played golf into his 80's and was a long time citizen of South Toledo. The Becks enjoyed annual winter trips to the West Coast of Florida for over 30 years. Mr. Beck, after extensive genealogical research traced his family lineage to Germany and England. The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1825 Glendale Ave at Broadway, where visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 am Friday November 9, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity. Interment will follow the service at Toledo Memorial Park.
