Orra Herroon 1945 - 2013 Orra Raymond Herroon, 68, passed away on June 14, 2013 at his home in Los Angeles. Born in Toledo to Edwin (Bud) and Mary Jane Herroon, he grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University. His career as an educator spans 44 years, five states (California, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii and his native Ohio), and two countries, (England and the US). In his more than 20 years at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Canada, California, beginning in 1980, he taught math, geology and chemistry ending his career exclusively teaching chemistry. In 2004, the yearbook, Rebelium, was dedicated to him. In 2007, he won the Detoy Award for Teaching Excellence. He held the Trustee Teaching Chair from 2003 until his retirement in 2011. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathleen Condell Herroon; son, Gregory Myers and wife Tammy of Maumee, Ohio; two grandchildren, Riley and Shelby Myers; siblings: Esther Herroon Gillies ( Bruce ) of Los Angeles CA, Elva Herroon Court ( Gary )of Perrysburg, OH; Edwin J. Herroon ( Sandra ) of Bryan, OH; and, Gregory Herroon ( Joan ) of Piqua, OH. A Celebration of Life will be held at St Rose Church in Perrysburg, Ohio on June 29, 2013 at 10:30 AM with a luncheon to follow in the church basement.
