Mary Louise Beyer Mary Louise Beyer, 82, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Sunday August 14, 2011 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio on S. Detroit Ave. Mary was born on August 24, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to Anthony J. and Lillian M. (Long) Kolodzaike. Mary attended S.S. Peter & Paul School and graduated in 1946 from Libbey High School. After her children were grown, Mary completed a one year Dental Assistant program and worked for Dr. G.W. Pifer for 15 years retiring in 1986. Mary was a beloved, gracious, and giving person of her time as a member of the Maumee Elk's Club #1820, Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo Symphony, University of Toledo Medical College Satellites, and St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church for many years, leading the Beyond Grief Group. She also belonged to the Margaret Hunt and Maumee Senior Centers, and the Plum Reddi Red Hats Society. Mary played in the Heatherettes Golf League at the South Toledo Golf Club, and was a passionate fan of the Detroit Tigers. She also enjoyed her work for many years as a volunteer usher at the Stranahan Theatre. But Mary's favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Beyer in 2002; brothers Ronald and James Kolodzaike and sister Joan Puls. Surviving are her children, Janet Barbour and Charles A. (Debbie) Beyer, grandchildren, Jason (Sharon) Campos, Jennifer Campos, Steven Barbour, David Beyer, Mark Beyer, great grandchildren, Kayla, Laura, Emma, Logan, Julien, brothers, John Kolodzaike, Michael Kolodzaike, sister, Dolores Holdren, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express its appreciation to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care of Mary. The family will receive friends Thursday August 18, 2011 at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd. from 2-5 & 7-9 P.M. with a 7:30 P.M. Scripture Service. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 19, 2011 at 9:30 A.M. at the funeral home followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the American Cancer Society or to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Beyond Grief Group.
