Martha Rita Tucholski

Martha Rita Tucholski (Nowak) Martha Rita Tucholski, 94, formerly of the Polish Village passed away April 21, 2017 in the Otterbein Homes of Monclova, Ohio. She spent her golden years in the Lakewood Senior Apartments and West Park Place retirement community. She was a member of St. Adalbert and St. Hyacinth parishes, Circle 8, and the Margaret Hunt Senior Center. Martha was born on February 11, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio one of eleven children. She was a graduate of Woodward High School and worked for the former Kuhlman Potato Chip Co. and Stanley's Meat Market and used her superb marketing skills as an "Avon Lady" and life insurance salesperson. Martha was most proud of raising her four children and being a homemaker. She was the driving force behind family Sunday picnics and vacationing in upper Michigan and Connecticut. She had a green thumb when it came to growing tomatoes which she proudly shared with family, friends, and neighbors. Martha's infectious smile, laugh, wit, and joyful "conversational" singing (which invariably became a sing-along) will be missed by all. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Rose (Grocek) Nowak, her husband Casimer (married 62 years) , brothers - Thomas Nowak, Frank Nowak, Eugene Nowak , Ray Nowak, sisters - Julia Godlewski, Emily Tesznar, Josephine Matuszewski, Florence Kolodziejczyk, son, Douglas Tucholski, daughter, Patricia Sisi. Surviving are her sons, William (Rochelle Fleming) Tucholski, Ronald Tucholski, sister, Eleanore Juhnke, brother, Richard (Arlene) Nowak, grandchildren, Kathy (Jeff Hahn) Tucholski, Thomas Tucholski, James (Kristi) Sisi Jr, Angelo (Kylie) Sisi, Amber Sisi, and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road on Wednesday April 26, 2017 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. and at St. Hyacinth Church Parkside Blvd and Victory Ave on Thursday April 27, 2017 after 11:00 a.m. with a funeral mass to follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in memory of Martha.
