Margaret J 'Peg' Dawson

Margaret J. "Peg" Dawson Margaret J. "Peg" Dawson, 75, of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away February 15, 2012. Peg was born on February 23, 1936 in Cherry Valley, Pennsylvania to F. Layton and Mary L. (Dodson) Gearhart. Peg was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School, Bloomsburg State Teachers College and Duquesne University with a specialist degree from Bowling Green State University. Peg was a Special Education teacher for 47 years, retiring from Washington Local Schools in 2003. Peg was a 45-year member of Mayfair Plymouth Congregational Christian Church in Toledo where she served many years as Sunday school teacher, youth director and director of vacation bible school and served 18 years as Sunday school superintendent. Among her memberships are the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches, Teachers Association for Washington Local Schools, Delta Kappa Gamma teacher's honorary sorority and Phi Delta Kappa. Peg was preceded in death by her husband Morris J. "Bud" Dawson, parents F. Layton and Mary Gearhart. Surviving is her daughter: Mary M. (Doug) King, grandchildren, Harrison W. and Conrad J. King; sister-in-law Marcia Lee, special cousins Mary Jane Donnelly and Patsy Kern and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Urbanski Funeral Home 5055 Secor Rd on Tuesday, February 28, from 2-5 & 6-8 P.M. with a DKG Rose Ceremony at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services conducted by Rev. David J. Claassen will be held at Mayfair-Plymouth Congregational Christian Church, 5253 Bennett Rd, on Wednesday, February 29 at 11:00 A.M. where the family will receive friends after 10:00 A.M. Further funeral services will be held at the William H. Clark Funeral Home 1003 Main St Stroudsburg, PA on Saturday, March 3, at 10:00 A.M. with visitation starting at 9:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg. The family suggests memorials to Alpha Epsilon Chapter (DKG) Scholarship Fund or Fishers of Men Ministries c/o Mayfair Plymouth Congregational Christian Church.
