Louis G. Zapf Louis G. Zapf, of South Toledo, passed into the hands of God on January 21, 2011 at Swan Creek Retirement Village, Toledo. He was born August 15, 1918, to Ethel and Frank Zapf of Toledo. Louis was a dear, loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa. He will be remembered for being and honest, hardworking, kind family man with a friendly smile and helpful hand for everyone he knew. Louis married Alice Zapf on October 12, 1940 in Toledo and they celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2010. He was employed at Schultz-Die-Casting Co. as a tool & die maker for 25 years, having retired from Die-Cast Die & Mold Co. in 1984. Golfing, bowling, fishing, and family trips filled his leisure hours. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for many years. Louis' greatest love was his family. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Alice, daughters, Sondra Alexander and Carole (John) Hipsher, grandchildren, Chris Hipsher (Erin) and Kristin Miklovic (Jay), and great grandchildren, Joey and Hannah Miklovic, all of whom were his pride and joy and loved dearly. His sister, Mildred Smith, preceded him in death in 2005. One niece (Marcia Smotherman) and nephew (Ron Smith) also survive.
