Larry Michael ''Gus'' Hicks

Larry Michael Hicks, 61 years of age, of Toledo, OH, died Monday morning, September 26, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Bersticker - Scott Funeral Home, Toledo OH, on Saturday from 10am - 1pm. Cremains will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI at a later date. Born June 17, 1955, Larry was the son of Robert A and Barbara R (Cole) Hicks. A 1974 Ida High School Graduate, he married the love of his life, Cathy Sickmiller on April 15, 1989. Larry was a carpenter for most of his life. He enjoyed gardening, grilling, bonfires, camping, golf, and his two precious dogs, Arielle and Kokomo. He was a dedicated University of Michigan sports fan. Survivors include: his wife Cathy, of Toledo; three brothers, James (Susan), of Grand Rapids, Gerald (Martha), of Point Place, and Robert (Diana Calmes), of Toledo; four sisters, Dianne (Rick) Moberg, Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Linda Harris, of Monroe, Karen Brandhuber, of Grayling, Kathleen (Dan) Griffin, of Columbus, Oh, sister-in-law, Kathy Hicks, of Ida. He also leaves behind brothers in law, Dale Sickmiller, Evan (Char) Sickmiller, and sister in law, Faith (Patrick) Sidney . He loved all of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronnie and Gary. Memorial contributions for Mr. Hicks may be made to your local humane society
