Karl W Wolfert Karl W. Wolfert, 82 of Waterville, Ohio formerly of Toledo, Ohio passed away Wednesday May 14, 2014 in his residence after a long illness. Karl was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 27, 1931 to Karl and Bertha (Schneider) Wolfert. Karl's life centered around his family and the family grocery store on Airport Hwy. It was started by his parents when they immigrated from Germany to Toledo. Karl then took over the store when his father passed away and then later retired in 1997. Karl was a graduate of Libbey High School. Karl was a member of Westgate Chapel for many years and was also a member of the former South Toledo Exchange Club. Karl loved to travel and appreciated good food. Karl was a very generous person supporting many charities. Karl was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Wolfert, step-son, Douglas "Brent" Barnett. Surviving is his wife, Billie, son, Paul Wolfert, daughters, Heidi (Dan) Oswald, Heather (Josh) Winkler, step-son, Chris (June) Barnett, step-daughter, Jamie (Dave) Boothe, sisters, Rosemary (Jerry) McCammon, Ruthie Baeumel., grandchildren, Sean (Hilary), Seth, Kimberly, Scott Oswald, Aiden, Evie, Laney Winkler, step-grandchildren, Aaron, Emily, Ben, Daniel, Christina Barnett, Nathaniel, Samuel Lyell. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd Sunday May 18, 2014 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday May 19, 2014 at Westgate Chapel 2500 Wilford Road 10:30 a.m. where the family will receive friends after 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
