Josephine Lepine Jordan

Josephine (Jody) LePine Jordan Josephine (Jody) LePine Jordan, age 98 of Toledo, Ohio passed away April 17, 2010 in Sunset House. Born November 29, 1911 in Detroit, Michigan too Fredrick and Daisy (Burgess) McElwee. Mrs. Jordan was a school secretary at Washington school for 25 years and worked at her husbands' jewelry store arranging the window displays. Mrs. Jordan was an active member of Washington Church, the Flower Hospital Guild serving as vice president and Cotillion Dance Society. Josephine enjoyed being at the family cottage on Lake Erie, attending the Toledo Symphony, traveling and could recite many of The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. During high school Josephine played women's basketball for her high school. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Samuel in 1999. Surviving are her sons, Samuel D. (Jane) and Douglas K. (Barbara) Jordan, Daughter, Karen L. Jordan, also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Foth-Dorfmeyer Mortuary 3815 Sylvania Ave. at Woodley Rd. Thursday April 22, 2010 2-9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Washington Church 3925 W. Central Ave. Friday April 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Sunset House or Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio Chapter.
