Joseph Henry 'Joe" Or "Pappa Joe' Talley

Joseph Henry Talley ("Joe" "Pappa Joe") 78, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2018 in Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 12:00p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Bersticker - Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio with Rev. Gerald Talley, officiating. Arrangements by Bersticker - Scott Funeral Home. Joe/Pappa Joe was born to Dewey and Josephine Talley on February 12, 1940. He graduated from Scott High School, Toledo, Ohio. He worked at Keiser Jeep for a number of years before being severely injured due to an accident. He accepted Christ into his life and became a deacon in San Bernardino, California. Joe/Pappa Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Josephine Talley, brothers, James Talley and Dewey Talley, Jr., sisters, Norita Stewart and Lucinda Williams. Joe/Pappa Joe is survived by four daughters; Dawn (Robert), Carla (Kermit), Jo-Lynn (Michael) and Joslyn Talley and one son, Shawn (Clio) Talley. Special sister/niece/caregiver Shelia Stewart and Dovie Stewart. To know Joe/Pappa Joe, was to love him. During family gatherings, everyone was so excited when Joe/Pappa Joe came through the door. Everyone knew that by the end of the night we would all be doing what he loved, singing, singing together. It was our family trait! Uncle Joe/Pappa Joe loved his family and we all loved him. He is now flying with the angels. "Weeping may endureth for a night, but joy cometh in the morning". Psalms 30:5. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadethme beside still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; they rod and they staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely thy goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalms 23
