It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of John Casper Vartanian announce his passing on November 7th, 2024.

John was born February 2nd, 1930, in South Rockwood, MI to the late Sam & Elizabeth (Brecka) Vartanian.

John attended St Martin De Porres elementary school until his family moved to the south end of Toledo where he attended Our Lady Perpetual Help.

John entered the U.S. Army and proudly served as an 11th Airborne Paratrooper in the Korean War making two jumps into enemy territory. After the war, he worked for various prominent factories until his retirement in 1992 from Olympic Pools. John was always a hardworking, busy man, and enjoyed building decks, and doing other carpentry projects. John was not one to sit around with idle hands and came out of retirement to retire a second time from Page Plus Cellular as recently as December 2022.

John will be sorely missed but also remembered as an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Always a quiet man, John said, "one learns a lot more by listening than by running one's mouth." John never had a bad word to say about anyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors, friends, and strangers alike.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Marge (Wright) Vartanian, grandson Kyle Vartanian, his parents Sam & Elizabeth Vartanian, sisters Mary Vartanian, Rose Sniecinki, Gerri Golkiewicz, MaryAnn Pelton. He is survived by his six children, Robert Vartanian, Sue (Bernie) Schaller, Wendi Dunlap, Robyn Belknap, Larry Sam Vartanian, and John Vartanian Jr., sisters Carol Konwinski and Jean Meek, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, and many dear and lifelong friends.
