James E. Collier, age 83, passed away at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio on April 3, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born on December 5, 1933, in Coval, West Virginia to Walter and Maggie (Shrader) Collier. He married his high school sweetheart, Frances Dalton in 1951 and the two were very close, he loved her with all his heart. He worked as an over the road truck driver and for several years worked at ATL Trucking as a dispatcher, and later delivered prescriptions for Kroger. James is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Collier; son, Edward Derek Collier, and a half-brother, James Kemp. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Frances; his daughter Sherri (Jeff) Oberle; grandchildren, Nicole and Derek Oberle. The family will welcome guests on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home at 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd in Toledo, Ohio where a funeral is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate James' life. Family extend a special thanks to the people at the Goerlich Center for the wonderful care they have provided to James and Frances over the past two years.
