George E. Whitney George E. Whitney, aged 70, of Sylvania, Ohio passed away April 17, 2013 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. George was born on January 13, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Esmond G. and Margaret (Popp) Whitney. George was a teacher in the Washington Local Schools, retiring after a number of years of service to devote himself to the care of his mother. Surviving George are his sister, Surina Devam of Fairfield, CA, nephews Glen Whitney of Stony Brook, NY and Wayne Whitey of Berkeley, CA, and nieces Carol Whitney of Silver Spring, MD, Michelle Caspers of Fairfield, CA, Reshma Devam and Anjali Devam of Los Angeles, CA, and Kamala Devam, of London, England. George was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Whitney, who last resided in Medfield, MA. Services will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery in the Swan Lake Chapel Mausoleum.
