Frances Elizabeth Kiefer

KIEFER Frances E. "Betty" Kiefer, 85, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Tuesday, December 21, 2016. Born in Toledo, Ohio on June 1, 1931, she was the daughter of John M. and Mari E. (Hodnut) Hanudel. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She worked at National Supply Company prior to company relocation and was a 55 year member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. Over the course of the past 5 ½ years, she successfully completed physical rehabilitation 4 times following hospitalizations, well enough to return to her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert E. Kiefer; brothers: Andy, Joseph, John, James, Frank, and Richard; sisters Ann Vivian and Mary Bocik. She is survived by her son, Douglas B., sister-in-law Mary Jo Hanudel, brother and sister-in-law Jim & Arlene Taylor, and 23 nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit at Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2016 with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin 9:15 a.m. Tuesday with prayers at the funeral home and proceed to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery, Perrysburg.
