Ezekiel Hernandez Villa, 88, Of Toledo, Ohio passed away in his home on January 18, 2022. Ezekiel was born March 31, 1933, in Crystal City, Texas to Benjamin and Antonia (Hernandez) Villa. Ezekiel served in the United States Airforce a total of 30 years active and in reserves. He served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, retiring as a TSgt. Sargent. He was the youngest man on record to enter the united states Airforce at the age of 14. Ezekiel has been the owner and co-founder along with his wife Consuelo, of El Tipico restaurant for the past 54 years. Ezekiel was also an Ordain Minister for over 20 years thru the Church of Christ founding the Christ Latino Mission. He served on several community boards and was very active in serving his community. The former pastor and 30-year military veteran received several honors later in his life including Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan in 2019 by the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs. Toledo City Council unveiled a street sign in 2013 in Villa’s honor near his restaurant, renaming it Ezekiel Villa Corner.

Ezekiel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Consuelo Villa (2008), whom he was married to for 54 years, daughter, Linda Consuelo Villa, son, Sergio Villa Morales, brothers, Pancho Villa, Pollo Villa, Benjamine Villa and sister Esther Rodriguez.

Surviving are his Son, Franciso (Jan) Villa, daughter, Dina Villa, brother, Elias (Theresa) Villa, sisters, Maria (Merced) Gonzales, Lucia Villa, grandchildren, Isaac (Susan)Villa, April (Ben) Johnson, Isaiah Villa, also surviving are 4 great grandchildren.

The four most important passions in his life were his love for sharing the gospel of Christ Jesus, his love for his Country, his love for his family & his love for serving the community.

The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd. On Sunday January 30, 2022, from 1-8 p.m. with a Remembrance service at 7:00 P.M. Ezekiel will be buried in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery San Antonio Texas. The family suggest memorials to be given to Flag City Honor Flight PO Box 885 Findlay, Ohio 45839 or Flagcityhonorflight.org.
