Eleanor Justen

Eleanor A Justen, 95 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away in St. Anne Hospital on November 19, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born on November 14, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio to Otto and Anastasia Helen (Wasielewski) Speweik. Eleanor was a payroll clerk and cashier for the Kroger Co. office on Tecumseh Street for several years, but she spent most of her life as a homemaker.

Eleanor was an active member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns. She and her husband were charter members of St. Patrick's. She was a Girl Scout leader, belonged to the St. Pat's Altar and Rosary Society, and bowled on a St. Pat's league with her husband for many years. Eleanor used to golf regularly in a ladies' league and was a member of the Maumee Elks and the Maumee Eagles.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Paul V. Justen in 2002; brother, Donald Speweik; and sister, Vivian Tanner. Surviving are her sons, Paul (Linda) Justen Jr., Daniel (Karen) Justen, daughter, Carol Justen; grandchildren, Susanne (Eric) Casto, Jeffrey (Erin) Justen, Phil (Melissa) Justen, Brian (Jenna) Justen, Corey Meidt, and Casey Meidt. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH, Monday November 25, 2024, from 9:15 until 10:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following Mass. The family suggests memorials to the Father Brogan Memorial Fund at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns.
