Edna Marion Cook, 92 of Toledo, Ohio passed away suddenly, Friday morning, July 17, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital. Edna was born on October 13, 1922 in Chicopee, Massachusetts to Charles and Octavia (Utley) Smith. On January 24, 1944, Edna married the love of her life, Frank T. Cook and together they raised 3 children. After her marriage, they moved several times, but lived in both Massachusetts and in Ohio. During wartime, she worked at the Springfield Armory in Springfield MA, where she was a "Rosie the Riveter". Edna loved children, and for many years, cared for other people's children. She loved being with her family, enjoyed baking family dinners, doing crossword puzzles, reading historical fiction, and was an avid bridge play at the Maumee Senior Citizen Center. She was a member of St. Andrew Church for many years, and loved helping with the Church of St. Andrew rummage sale. Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank T. Cook. Surviving are her loving children, daughter, Nancy (Frank) Mortali, sons, William T. (Alice) Cook, Charles A (Gloria) Cook, 8 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road on Wednesday July 22, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Church of St. Andrew - 3620 Heatherdowns Blvd. A private interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
