Dorothy E. Woods

Dorothy E. Woods age 94 formerly a 30 year resident of the Browning Masonic Home in Waterville, Ohio passed away November 22, 2016 in Spring Meadows Extended Care Center. Born in Toledo, Ohio on February 6, 1922 to Lawrence O and Bernice (Hill) Durham. Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Libbey High School. Dorothy worked for a brief time at the former Lamson's department stores and as nurse aid at the former spencer manor on Lewis Ave and Flower Hospital at Collingwood and Cherry Street. Dorothy was a member and past president of the Beverly School PTA and a Den mother for the Beverley Cub scouts and the Maumee Chapter of the AARP. Ralph and Dorothy visited every state and Nova Scotia and France (Twice each) during their time together. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 yrs. Ralph L. Woods in 2005. They were united in marriage on June 4, 1941. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her grandson Bret Woods, brothers, Donald and Lawrence Jr. Durham, sisters, Cora Morey and Eva Clancy and also her parents Lawrence and Bernice Durham. Surviving are her son, Dale L. (Joyce) Woods, granddaughter, Vicki Woods (significant other Carmen Doke), brother, Daniel Durham, sister, Bernice Deering, great grandchildren, Kylie and Grant woods, great- great- grandchildren Avery Woods, also surviving are step-granddaughter, Shelly (Joe) Keller, step-grandson, Donald Buck, step-great grandchildren, Destiney and Darrell Cunningham, Isaac and Layla Buck. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns at Byrne Road on Tuesday November 29, 2016 after 12 noon where services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Interment to follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
