Donald R. Shier

Donald R. Shier, 99 of Toledo, Ohio passed away December 27, 2024, in the University of Toledo Medical Center after a brief illness. Born March 29, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio to Carlton A. and Beatrice (Butler) Shier. Donald worked for the former Gene Richards and Sons. Donald was an avid outdoors person having a lake cottage on Devils Lake for over 74 years.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cathy Ann Shier, Sister Jeanne Ruth, and grandson Eric Shier. Surviving are his wife of 77 years, Catherine C. (Sterzel) Shier, son Terry (Janice) Shier, and grandson Joel Shier.

Private graveside services will be held in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery—arrangements by The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd.
