Deborah "Deb" Marie (Gillingham) Leonard
Deborah "Deb" Marie (Gillingham) Leonard was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on June 8, 2021, at age 65.
She was born on July 5, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio to Nan(Kessler) Gillingham and Dale Hofbauer, stepfather Bill Gillingham. She was a 1975 graduate of Libbey High School and graduated from Owens Community College with her Associates Degree in law enforcement in 1995. Deb married the love of her life and best friend, Jim Kevin Leonard in 1990. She served for 33 years at the University of Toledo (MCO) as a Police Officer. Deb treasured her family and friends and embraced every moment with them. She enjoyed crocheting, nature, and adventuring through the Great Smoky Mountains; her "Happy Place."
Deb will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Jim Kevin, son Scott (Anya) and her five grandchildren, Lee "Tony" Tabb, Cherokee "Nicholas" Tabb, Marsadies "Nicole" Tabb, Avery Leonard, and Bowen Eckel. Deb will also be forever remembered by her brother Charles Gillingham and sister Kathy (Larry) Goans, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter Heather Tabb, mother Nan Gillingham and father Dale Hofbauer.
Please join us celebrating her life on Sunday June 13, 2021, From 2-5 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 5:00 p.m. at The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.friendsofthesmokies.org or www.cadescovepreservation.com both organizations created to preserve and protect the Smokies.
