David Hill David Hill, also known as Sam to family and friends, of Bowling Green, and formerly of Toledo, died Monday March 2, 2015 at Sterling House with family at his side. He was 83. He was born April 22, 1931 in Toledo, the son of David and Margaret (Sparks) Hill. He married Joanne Ritchey on May 27, 1955, and would have celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with her this year. They resided in Toledo most of their married lives until 2013. They had 5 children together, and he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth George, who died April 27, 1984. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He spent much of his service time on the USS Jack W. Wilke DE-800, which was stationed in Key West. After his service3 to his country, he learned the trade of printing and worked for various companies including WTOL 11, Bostwyck Braun, and retired from Dana Corp. He was an avid Baseball fan and had a phenomenal knowledge of baseball history that all baseball fans he encountered enjoyed and appreciated. He also was a Bible scholar, again whose phenomenal knowledge of it was appreciated and enjoyed by many. He is survived by his wife Joanne of 59 years; children, Robert Hill, David (Elaine) Hill, Amy (Tim) Smith, and Lorelei Hill; grandchildren, Kent, Dean, Lexi, and Carly smith, Jacob Hill, and Samuel Miller; brother James Hill. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Peace Thursday March 5, 2015 at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
