Cleon O. Reckley Cleon O. Reckley, 83, of Maumee, OH passed away peacefully on October 4, 2014 at Hospice of NW Ohio with his loving family by his side. Cleon was born in Toledo, OH on May 6, 1931 to Delbert and Gladys Reckley. He was a graduate of Woodward High School. Cleon proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service during the Korean War. He was stationed in Key West Fla. and served as a 2nd class I.C. at which time he had the honor of earning the distinguished dolphin pin. Cleon was employed with I.B.M. as a Customer Service Engineer for 30 years, retiring in 1987. On August 9,1952, Cleon married his "earthly angel" Lois J. Hill and together they shared 62 wonderful years. Cleon was a loving and devoted husband, dad and grandpa. Spending time with his family was always his first priority; week- end camping trips, summers in Key West, Fla. and later, many family-filled week-ends at their "cottage on the river." For the past 35 years, Cleon and Lois have spent their winters in Ft. Pierce, Fla. They were even awarded "Hospitality Couple" for 13 years; heading up the welcoming committee in their park. Cleon loved helping people. He was always busy fixing something for someone or creating things to make life's tasks simpler. Cleon is survived by his "earthly angel" Lois: children Timothy (Diane) Reckley and Jennifer (Thomas) Stough :Granddaughters Amanda (Scott) Whitaker ; Alyssa (John) Monnette; Caitlyn and Abby Stough: great grandchildren Caleb and Eliza Whitaker. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 1825 Glendale Ave Toledo, OH 43614 from 10:00 am till 12:00 noon with the service following visitation at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions made in Cleon's name to either Hospice of NW Ohio or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Arrangements by The Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home.
