Betty Jane Berry

Betty Jane Berry of Perrysburg, Ohio, age 88 went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends. She was always healthy and full of life, loved her family with a fierce devotion and lived life on her own terms. Betty was born June 8, 1925 in Toledo to Ethel M. (Bowers) Randall and William Young Sr. She married Charles Berry Sr. February 11, 1944. She was predeceased by her husband (1972), her parents, sisters Louise Waldren and Madelyn McDermott and brothers William Young Jr., and Henry Randall. Betty is survived by her children Charles (Arlayne) Berry Jr., Patrick (Joyce) Berry , Thomas (Jan) Berry, and Peggy (Frank) Lowrie , brother -in -law Joseph Berry, sisters -in-law Dorothy Wingard and Phyllis Randall, 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews. Betty was notary for 30 years and a talented seamstress. She sewed many bridesmaids' dresses for her family in her lifetime along with countless other items that were stitched with love for her beloved family and friends. She was a member of First Congregation Church. She enjoyed bingo, sewing, walking, bowling and dancing. Betty never forgot a birthday of a loved one and she sent countless birthday cards and messages of love in her life. Betty's greatest joy in life was her family. She was affectionately known as Aunt Bet by her beloved nieces and nephews, and lovingly called "B" by all of her grandchildren whom she considered the loves of her life. Ma will be missed by all. She had requested that any memorials in her name be given to the Cherry Street Mission http://www.cherrystreetmission.org/ The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio of Perrysburg for their care and compassion and all the friends and family that have visited and been part of this journey in her life. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013 from 2-8pm at Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio. Services will be Monday Aug. 19, at 1:00pm in the funeral home with burial to follow at Springfield Township Cemetery, The family invites you to join them for a luncheon immediately following at the Lodge at Strawberry Acres, 950 S. McCord Rd. Holland, OH. for a celebration of Betty Jane Berry's life.
