Earnest Darrell ''Ernie'' White

Earnest D White (Ernie), 64 of Ottawa Hills, OH. Passed away surrounded by his family and friends on Monday Sept 11, 2017 at Hospice Center of Northwest Ohio after a brief battle with cancer. He was born to Raymond and Erville White in Graysville, AL. He was a graduate of Woodward High School class of 1971. He was the most kind, caring and loving person always there to bring a smile on your face. The number one "prankster" He loved to tinker with cars, shoot pool, go bowling, take casino trips, and spend time with family. Over the years he worked for a number of automotive factories and local steel plants until the last 10+ years where he landed his dream job with The City of Toledo Water Department as a service worker. He loved his position and all his fellow co-workers. Survived by his beautiful wife of 43 years, Gena, and 3 children, Jamie (Tony) Burgy, Earnest White Jr. (Sherri), and Brian (Nicole) White, grandchildren Zack and Megan Burgy, Austin, Cameron, Scott, Kylie and Carlie White; sisters Rochelle and Marilyn (Leo) Maidlow, as well as many nieces, nephews, and family and friends. Lifelong best friend Mike Good. He was proceeded in death by his parents Raymond and Erville White, sisters Frances and Valencia, brother Raymond (Junior), nephew Timothy White and great-nephew Caleb White. Special thanks to Nicole Ford from Ohioans Healthcare, also a big "thank you" to everyone at Hospice of NW Ohio who cared for him and gave love and support to our family. The family will receive guests at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd. on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2-8 pm with services on Saturday at the funeral home at 11:30 am.
