Joan Dorothy Kiley

Joan Dorothy Kiley, 86, of Toledo, OH, passed away January 4, 2021, in the Toledo Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center due to COVID-19 complications. Joan was born on April 3, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, to John and Helen (Gallagher) Foley. Joan proudly graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School located in Philadelphia, PA. For many years, Joan worked as a school administrator supporting school districts within Marshfield, MA, and Berks County, PA. Joan was a member of Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo, OH. Joan was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her sons and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandmother. Joan had a fun-loving Irish spirit and a passion for oil painting. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Richard A. Kiley, in 2003; and her brothers John Foley and Robert Foley. Joan is survived by her sons: Richard (Judith) Kiley and Paul (Paulette) Kiley; her brothers: Joseph (Kathy) Foley, James (Peggy) Foley, and Gerald (Carol) Foley, and her grandchildren: Molly Roark, Anthony Roark, Erin Kiley, and Bridget Kiley.

The family will receive friends and relatives in the narthex of Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral located at 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH, on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Joan will be interned next to her husband at Resurrection Cemetery in Toledo, OH. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home of Toledo, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s honor to Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral.

Hi Richard and Paul and family, I am very sorry for the loss of your Mom. I always remember her smiling and being and very positive. I know she really loved kids. She was always very kind to me. I hope you can find peace soon. I miss talking sports with your Dad too. A sweet couple. Sincerely, Dave Nealon

This week we lost our dear Joan. Joan was my older and loving, caring sister who help guide my brothers and I through the foibles of our youth showing us the way to education, health, and loving general welfare. Always the fashion plate (winning the "Best Dressed" with her handsome husband Dick Kiley in Atlantic City's huge Easter Day Parade) and envy of most women for her beauty and charm she will be gravely missed my me, my brothers, her sons and the entire Foley& Kiley clans . We love you always Joe (brother) and Kathy Foley of Philadelphia
